For our magazine...

1 / Poetry

We accept all forms of poetry, including poetic prose. You may submit up to five poetry pieces per issue. 

There are no line limits -- in fact, we encourage a visual experience, where wild shapes fill the page. 

2 / Prose

We accept short stories, micro fiction, and flash fiction. All pieces must be less than 2500 words. You may submit up to three prose pieces. 

3 / Visual Art

We accept all mediums of visual art. You may submit up to five pieces. 

4 / Memoirs 

Personal essays. Say it how it is. You may submit only one. 

1 / Media Analysis Essays

Pick one of your favorite books, movies, tv shows, etc. and provide an in-depth analysis of it. Must be

under 3500 words. 

2 / Book Reviews

Speaks for itself. Must be under 2500 words.

3 / RAVE Report

The Skipping Stone is about YOU! We want to see you absolutely rave. Talk about your favorite hobby, food, sport, experience, or concept at large. Literally anything. Must be under 2000 words.

Formatting
Checklist. 

  • A readable font.

  • Name of works on the documents.

  • Filled out google form.

  • Short Cover Letter.

Rights and Stuff.
 

We ask you to inform us if your work has been published previously. For all submitted work, we ask for first serial and archival rights upon publication. If your work has been previously published, we ask for second serial and archival rights. 

By submitting work, you affirm that you are the sole author. Upon publication, rights revert back to the author. 

We do not condone, and will not accept, any bigoted or harmful language in any kind of submission. This includes racism, homophobia, sexist, transphobic, and other outright damaging trains of thought. 

If we find evidence of any usage of AI in your works, they will be immediately discarded.
